‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan claims he tackled and detained an introducer as his South Carolina home.

The 68-year-old WWE Hall of Famer, who overcame his battle with cancer earlier this year, revealed he confronted an individual who broke into his house on Thursday evening (December 8).

Duggan told Wrestling Inc. that a man in his mid-2os entered through the unlocked front door.

The former Royal Rumble winner claimed he then tackled the man and grabbed his pistol, holding him at gunpoint.

Duggan and his wife Debra have alleged that after he entered their home, they heard other people in their neighbourhood yelling, and became concerned more people could be on their way.

The retired wrestler turned his Christmas lights off and told the intruder – whom he described as ‘hysterically frightened’ – to stay quiet.

The couple told the outlet that the intruder claimed people from a home nearby were trying to kill him.

It’s said he was fleeing from individuals related to a different legal matter, and he apparently knocked on a number of other doors before climbing their fence and coming in through the front door.

Duggan kept his hand on the intruder’s back until the police arrived.

He did not press charges, but let the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department apprehend the man, and added: ‘Thank God we didn’t shoot him.’

Back in September, Duggan revealed he had survived prostate cancer, having previously battled kidney cancer 20 years ago.

He told Wrestling Inc. at the time: ‘I had my prostate taken out last October and I thought hopefully that had taken care of everything, but I got another PSA test, found out that the cancer was still in me.

‘I was very disappointed to say the least. I was really down for a little while, but had to go back in and get radiation. I did eight weeks of radiation treatment, but came out, rang the bell. I’m cancer-free, thank the Lord.’
