DJ Tim Westwood has been booked to host a New Year’s Eve party in London, despite alleged sexual misconduct allegations against him.
The Hatch Club in New Cross is selling tickets starting at £10 for their New Year’s Eve party featuring the DJ, 65, with the event details shared on their Instagram page.
The initial posting prompted a backlash, according to The Mirror, who reported that comments expressing anger at the event, were deleted. The post currently has no comments on it.
When the misconduct allegations first came to light, Westwood ‘strongly’ denied the claims, branding them ‘fabricated’ and insisting they were made ‘without any foundation’, in a statement to MailOnline.
Since then, his alleged misconduct during his time at the BBC has been the subject of an investigation, which was extended last month.
The broadcaster has also appointed independent safeguarding expert, Jahnine Davis, to assist with the review.
Gemma White, the barrister leading the investigation into the hip hop DJ, who has been accused of a string of sexual assaults against women, was appointed by the BBC Board in August.
Her independent review comes after an internal investigation found the corporation should have further explored issues raised at the time.
The investigation announced back in August, is intended to be completed early in the new year, after previous reports that it would take six months to complete when it was announced.
The BBC has also said it is willing to work with Westwood’s other employers, which include MTV and Capital Xtra-owner Global, to establish what happened.

Westwood, who left the BBC in 2013 after nearly two decades, also stepped down from his show on Capital Xtra in April after the initial claims were reported.
He has not been arrested or charged in relation to the allegations.
The ex-Radio1 DJ also reportedly hosted a party for The Beat 99.9 FM in Lagos, Nigeria, on Tuesday, which prompted a backlash on social media.
‘The promoters who booked Tim Westwood to DJ in Nigeria this weekend, you have no shame,’ wrote one on Twitter.
