You only need a single Overwatch coin to buy the new legendary Winter Wonderland skin for Bastion.
It seems like Blizzard wants to get on players’ good side, after complaints of overpriced high-tier cosmetics, now that Overwatch 2 is free-to-play.
No matter the reason, it’s still a sweet deal if you’d like to dress Bastion in a festive, gingerbread-themed skin for the duration of the Winter Wonderland special.
While Overwatch coins are the game’s premium currency, which you usually have to buy with real money, they can also be obtained by completing in-game challenges.
Completing four weekly challenges gives you 30 Overwatch coins, which is more than enough to unlock Gingerbread Bastion.
Not long ago, Overwatch 2 also started allowing players to earn coins through redeeming Microsoft Reward Points, although obviously that won’t help PlayStation players.
The deal will be available until Monday, January 2, along with other free log-in rewards, so make sure to keep checking the game until then.
Just by launching Overwatch 2, you will also receive the Festive Wreath weapon charm and the 2023 player icon.
Plus, you can stick around and complete Winter Wonderland challenges to earn even more free rewards, including the epic tier Ice Queen Brigitte skin.

The Sleighing D.Va legendary skin is another freebie you can get, but you’ll have to watch at least six hours of Overwatch 2 Twitch streams to unlock it.
Prices for skins and cosmetic bundles, like sprays, souvenirs, or victory poses, normally cost something between 1,500 and 2,000 Overwatch coins. That means you’d have to spend between £9 to £17 to get them.
Alongside the Winter Wonderland freebies, you can also claim high-tier gear for Overwatch 2’s latest character Ramattra.
These cosmetics are part of the Season 2 launch drops, which means there will be many more revealed in the coming weeks.
