Building 21 has been ‘locked down’ a week after being added to the DMZ mode in Warzone 2.
The midseason update for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 added a suite of new features and items to the games.
From the first Special Ops Raid for the campaign mode, to the new Shipment map, as well as limited time modes Warzone Cup and Mini Royale, there’s plenty to keep you entertained throughout the Christmas break.
A new playable area, named Building 21, was also unveiled for Warzone 2’s controversial DMZ mode, but its addition has not gone smoothly.
Now, Infinity Ward has decided to shut it down, only a week after going live as part of the Season 1 Reloaded update.
The exact reason behind the decision hasn’t been revealed, as Infinity Ward chose to post a rather cryptic tweet explaining what’s going on.
‘Building 21 has entered lockdown after significant infiltration,’ wrote the developers.
As the location is classified, you need a special access card to get into Building 21, making it a high stakes, high rewards mission.
It’s possible that the ‘high infiltration’ problem that Infinity Ward is referring to is actually a glitch in Building 21, that many players seem to have been facing since its launch.

Some players have reported that they’ve been able to redeploy to the area continuously, using the same access card over and over again, even after dying.
This has caused Building 21 to become significantly overcrowded, whereas it’s likely that Infinity Ward intended only for a few players to be able to access it at a time.

Luckily, Building 21 won’t be missing from the DMZ mode for long, as it’s set to be back up and running within the week.
If you sign into the game, you’ll be able to spot a countdown clock, showing that Building 21 will be accessible in about three days.
For now, if you want to skip DMZ, you can enjoy a Christmas themed version of the map Shipment, as well as check out new operator Klaus.
