H&M has axed Justin Bieber’s merchandise after the musician branded the collection ‘trash’, it has been claimed.

Earlier this week, the Stay singer slammed the clothing brand on Instagram, claiming that he never approved of a new collection featuring his face.

The 28-year-old also urged fans not to buy the outfits in a series of posts on his story.

In a statement, a spokesperson for H&M said that they ‘followed proper approval’ before launching the merchandise in question.

‘As with all other licensed products and partnerships, H&M followed proper approval procedures,’ they told Metro.co.uk.

They reportedly added to BBC News: ‘But out of respect for the collaboration and Justin Bieber we have removed the garments from our stores and online.’

The collection is thought to have featured hoodies and other garments with Justin’s face and lyrics from his song, Ghost.

It was reportedly based in US stores, but was not available to buy on the US H&M online store at the time of writing.

Justin took aim at the clothes on social media, insisting that he didn’t approve of it.

‘I didn’t approve any of the merch collection that they put up at H&M,’ he penned.

‘All without my permission and approval SMH I wouldn’t buy it if I were you.’

‘The H&M merch they made of me is trash and I didn’t approve it don’t buy it,’ he added in a separate message.

The Baby star recently made headlines after being forced to cancel his remaining tour dates, after a brief return to the stage.

Earlier this year, he spoke out after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, a facial paralysis condition.

Ramsay Hunt syndrome is a complication of the disease known as shingles, and affects the facial nerve.

Symptoms can include blisters in the ears and on the roof of the mouth, as well as facial weakness – it can be treated with steroids, antiviral medication and facial rehabilitation.

Justin took a step back from the spotlight to focus on his health, and confirmed that he would be taking another break from being on the road after becoming overwhelmed with exhaustion.

‘Earlier this year, I went public about my battle with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, where my face was partly paralyzed,’ he began a statement on his Instagram story.

‘After resting and consulting with my doctors, family and team, I went to Europe in an effort to continue with the tour. I performed six live shows, but it took a real roll on me.

‘After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now. So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being.’

He stressed: ‘I’m going to be okay but I need time to rest and get better.’
