Christmas time is well and truly upon us and, while many of us will be using the next couple of weeks to enjoy a cheeky bev or two or three or… you get the gist, one famous face who is turning her back on booze this festive season is Paige Thorne.
The Love Island star has candidly opened up on ‘not being a good place’ as we head into what is regarded as the most wonderful time of the year.
Paramedic Paige, 25, has has a turbulent year since being thrust into the spotlight this summer when she strutted her stuff into the ITV villa, but didn’t have the smoothest of rides during her journey on the show.
Paige was going strong with Jacques O’Neill before being approached by bombshell Adam Collard – who has originally appeared on the show in 2018.
After Jacques, 23, left the show for mental health reasons, Paige pursued a romance with Adam, 27, but the pair split amid claims he had cheated after leaving the villa.
Paige has now opened up on her decision to quit booze, telling The Sun: ‘I’ve been struggling lately, really struggling with who I am and have not been in a good place.

‘I’ve given up alcohol, it’s been three weeks now, because I’ve realised that I don’t like the person I become when I drink.
‘So until I’m in a safe and happy place I want to stop drinking,’ she continued, adding that she is ‘happy being single’ for the time being.
Last month, it was reported that Paige and rugby league player Jacques had reignited their romance on the outside world.
A source told The Sun: ‘Paige and Jacques clearly got on really well with each other on the show.

‘They have hung out whenever they see each other and one thing has led to another.
‘It’s all just a bit of fun at the moment, but they have both said “never say never”.’
However, she told Cosmopolitan: ‘It’s spreading that me and Jacques are back in contact, and we’re going to be “reunited” and all this kind of thing.

‘We’ve literally had one conversation on the phone. It’s just friends. Everyone can chill out with the speculation that “Paige and Jacques, she’s gonna go back to him”.
‘It’s not quite like that. We’re just friends,’ she said.
Love Island returns to ITV2 in 2023.
