Teresa Giudice has offered Todd and Julie Chrisley advice for their time in prison, after the pair were sentenced to a combined total of 19 years behind bars.

The married couple shot to fame on popular TV series Chrisley Knows Best in 2014, but found themselves back in the headlines earlier this year when they were found guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion.

In November, Todd was sentenced to 12 years plus 16 months of probation, while Julie, 49, was handed seven years and 16 months of probation – they are both scheduled to report to prison in January.

Ahead of this, Teresa shared her tips for their time away, urging them to ‘stand strong’.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star famously served time after she was convicted of tax fraud in 2014, and later wrote a best-selling book about her stint in prison.

‘Stand strong. Stand strong for their family and manifest, while being in prison, what they want when they come out,’ the mom-of-four told TMZ when asked for her advice. ‘Just to be strong for their children.

‘It’s going to be very hard, but they have to make the best of it and they have to stand strong for their family and stay connected to their children and make it work.’

Discussing whether she’d advise for their kids to go for visitation, she added: ‘Of course, my children came every week.

‘The thing is, my children were young. Based on their schedules, at least go once a month.

‘They have to always keep connected, keep the family connected. Stand strong together.’

Todd and Julie became household names thanks to their long-running reality series, Chrisley Knows Best – as well as spin-off Growing Up Chrisley, which followed their children, Chase and Savannah.

They made headlines when they were found guilty of conspiring to defraud local banks out of at least $30million (£24million) in loans.

Prosecuting attorney Annalise Peters said the Chrisleys also actively hid millions they made from Chrisley Knows Best.

They then spent the money on luxury cars, designer clothes, real estate, and travel and used new fraudulent loans to pay back old ones, before Todd filed for bankruptcy.
