Big E has given an update on his WWE plans as he continues to recover from his broken neck.
The former world champion has been out of action since suffering a horror injury during a match on SmackDown in March 2022 when a move went badly wrong in a terrifying accident live on air.
Big E landed on his head during a belly to belly suplex from fellow wrestler Ridge Holland, which saw him fracture his C1 and C6 vertebrates, although he avoided any ligament or spinal cord damage.
He has made it clear he doesn’t blame Ridge for the incident, and has been recovering well in terms of his day to day life.
It’s still unclear if or when the New Day star will be able to return to the ring, but he’s given fans an update on the current situation.
In a video shared by These Urban Times, E told reporters: ‘I have to get some more scans at the one-year mark in March and we’ll see how everything is looking. We’ll see from there.

‘My C1 is broken in two spots, so we obviously have to be very smart about that. I was very fortunate. I want to make sure I’m making the best decision for myself. We’ll see in March.’
The 36-year-old star noted he’s not struggling with ‘any nerve issues’ or his strength, and he doesn’t want to take any chances by returning before he’s 100% ready.
‘I feel great, I’m really thankful for that. I don’t have any nerve issues, no strength issues, no impairment whatsoever,’ he added. ‘Obviously, to get back in the ring to do what we do, I want to make sure my C1 is rock solid. Other than that, I’m very blessed. I feel great.’
Big E recently paid tribute to his New Day teammates Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods after they captured the NXT Tag Team Title to become Grand Slam Champions in WWE.
‘What an absurdly talented pair of partners! I won the wrestling lottery when I got to team with these two,’ he tweeted. ‘Massive congrats, my brothers! Love y’all to death.’
