Matt Riddle has finally spoken out amid his break from WWE.

The former United States Champion was written off television earlier this month after an on-screen attack from Solo Sikoa, with the company revealing he would be out of action for around six weeks.

It was later reported by Bodyslam.net that the wrestler had allegedly failed a drug test and had been sent to rehab by WWE, while the company has declined to comment on the situation when approached by Metro.co.uk.

Earlier this week, adult film star Jordan Maxx, who was apparently previously dating Riddle, shared a series of angry tweets after photos emerged of Riddle kissing another adult star, Misha Montana.

She wrote: ‘Try to imagine for one second, the man you’ve spent the last 6 months with, who said “I love you” for the first time 2 months ago, is all of a sudden making out with someone else WHO IS IN YOUR INDUSTRY, and then, rather than keeping plans for Christmas and NYE, he’s going to rehab?

‘Do you have any idea how confusing and hurtful that is?’

I’ve been working a lot on myself lately and have been saying no and setting boundaries for the first time ever and certain people aren’t happy about it, but I couldn’t be healthier or happier.

Repeating the allegations, she added: ‘I do hope that he takes rehab seriously and gets the help he so desperately needs so that he can be the best version of who he is for his future partners, his kids, and himself.’

Riddle – who got divorced from Lisa Rennie, the mother of his three children, earlier this year – hasn’t directly addressed reports he went to rehab, but he did share a thinly veiled tweet after Maxx’s comments.

He wrote: ‘I’ve been working a lot on myself lately and have been saying no and setting boundaries for the first time ever and certain people aren’t happy about it, but I couldn’t be healthier or happier.

‘Thank you for all the support.’

After being stretchered out of the arena and written off TV on December 5, Riddle was pulled from live events, with WWE setting a timeline based on the storyline injury.

It remains unclear exactly when he’ll be back on screen.
