BBC Breakfast presenters Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were left in hysterics on Thursdays show after a baby let one rip live on air.

The hosts were interviewing James and Bethany Jefferson-Loveday and their ‘miracle’ baby Heidi, with the couple there to speak about how they had their child while both battling cancer.

But before the segment even began, Heidi made sure everyone knew that she was the guest of honour, making everyone turn to her when a fart was heard on the couch.

Waking up from a nap, she had let off a bit of gas.

Of course, giggles erupted from the adults, with Bethany quickly jumping in to clarify it wasn’t her and singling out her bundle of joy.

Naga giggled: ‘Did she just parp? She just parped! Does she usually wake up like that?.’

Charlie jumped in and said he had also heard someone breaking wind.

‘It’s a welcome to BBC Breakfast. That’s what that was.’

While Heidi didn’t seem to be bothered about the whole affair, Naga asked her to try and be on her best behaviour going forward.

The culprit was this very cute baby Heidi (Picture: BBC)

‘I’m telling a very emotional story here, please, Heidi – let me get on with it,’ she said.

While most of the rest of the segment went ahead without a hitch, Heidi let one more bottom burp out towards the end of the chat.

While Charlie reassured the couple it was ‘perfect’ and was ‘going to be a punctuation throughout this discussion’, the adults all lost it laughing again.

Naga added: ‘We’re talking about cancer and laughing as well’.

Born when both of her parents were battling cancer, James was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma before Heidi’s conception and was advised his fertility could be affected by chemotherapy.

His wife Bethany found out she had Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma 21 weeks into her pregnancy.

However both are now in remission, while Heidi is happy, and evidently, very healthy.

BBC Breakfast airs every day from 6am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
