Gemma Owen has insisted she has ‘no regrets’ after a whirlwind year of Love Island and her three month romance with Luca Bish.

Gemma, 19, and Luca, 23, called it quits after losing out to Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti on the reality series.

Following their break-up, Gemma spoke about things being ‘challenging’ but confirmed she’s been ‘doing ok’.

And she’s now reflected on this year, claiming that, despite the short-lived romance and memorable year, she doesn’t have ‘any regrets’.

She said: ‘It’s been a really good year that I definitely won’t forget.

The daughter of footballing legend Michael Owen added to Tatler, about her relationship being in the spotlight as soon as they left the villa: ‘Your life’s under a little bit of a microscope.

‘People question decisions or think they know what’s going on in your life when they perhaps don’t know the full story.’

Elsewhere Gemma added that she was unsure about going into the villa ‘until the last minute’.

‘I wasn’t sure if I was even going to participate until the very last minute,’ she added to the publication.

‘But I had such an amazing time and met incredible people, incredible friends, and had a really lovely summer.’

In a statement posted on his Instagram Story about the break-up, fishmonger Luca said that he’d an ‘emotional’ time coping with ‘thousands’ of messages about the split.
