Made In Chelsea star Ollie Locke and his husband Gareth Locke have opened up about their attempt to have a baby, revealing that their surrogate has suffered a miscarriage.
Earlier this year, the couple – who have been married since 2020 – announced that they were trying for a baby again after their first IVF attempt in July 2021 was unsuccessful.
In December 2021, they shared that their surrogate had miscarried at six weeks, writing at the time: ‘This is not going to be the end of the road, in fact we have some wonderful plans and we continue to move forward towards the remarkable gift of fatherhood.’
On last night’s episode of Made In Chelsea: Bali and Bonjour Baby, Ollie, 35, and Gareth 34, spoke to their co-stars Miles Nazaire, 27, and Emily Blackwell, 26, about their journey, expressing their heartbreak over their surrogate having a miscarriage again.
‘We just can’t believe it’s happened again,’ Ollie said, as Gareth added: ‘This is our third time. Every time it’s like … “Oh well, next time surely it’s going to happen.” It feels like every time you’re going to have to redo it, it just feels like it’s a bit, a step further away.’
Gareth acknowledged how ‘fortunate’ they are that they can try again, with Ollie then confessing he feels ‘embarrassed’ to share the news with his father.

‘Can I tell you something really savage as well? And this is a weird, personal thing, and I know this isn’t how I should be feeling. And I know this, but I get so embarrassed. I haven’t even called my dad yet,’ he said.
The reality star admitted that he ‘weirdly’ felt ‘desmasculated’, before adding: ‘And I know that’s really silly, but this is me talking frankly to you guys, and I know I shouldn’t feel like that, but I feel embarrassed that it hasn’t worked for us.’

‘But embarrassment is such a weird emotion, to have when it’s actually like, that should be the last of your thoughts,’ he stated.
Earlier this month, Ollie shared a birthday tribute to Gareth, which referenced their path towards fatherhood.
‘Happy 34th birthday to the person that makes me laugh everyday and equally drives me completely insane! A wonderful drinking partner, and hopefully one day very soon, an amazing daddy!! Xx,’ he wrote in the caption on Instagram.
The couple celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary in November while they were in Bali.
