How House Of The Dragon’s Olivia Cooke actually feels about a negroni sbagliato after famous clip with Emma D’Arcy-Mel Evans-Entertainment – Metro
Not stunning?
Olivia Cooke’s admission will break hearts around the world
In sad news for those who thrive on TikTok, Olivia Cooke doesn’t actually think a negroni sbagliato is all that ‘stunning’.
Cast your mind back a couple of months, and a clip went wildly viral online of Olivia and co-star Emma D’Arcy discussing their ‘drink of choice’.
In their casual and cool tone, D’Arcy explained theirs was a ‘negroni… sbagliato… with prosecco in it’.
Cooke’s response was: ‘Ooh, stunning.’
However, the drink to her, evidently, is not stunning.
She told Harper’s Bazaar UK (and it was noted with a grimace): ‘Emma made me one not so long ago and I didn’t like it. I’d prefer a normal negroni.’
Since the clip was uploaded, there have apparently been over 63 million views of negroni sbagliato memes on TikTok, and, naturally, Olivia is absolutely baffled by the reaction.
She said: ‘I’d never heard of it and now the world has twice over. I was in the pub the other day and a Spanish girl held the door open for me and went, “Stunning!”‘

Elsewhere in the chat, Olivia also opened up on the intense fame she found starring in House Of The Dragon, which led to a lot of chatter on social media.
Yes, that chestnut.
After Kit Harington spoke of his experience with social media, calling it the ‘most dangerous thing’ for someone like him to face as he was catapulted to fame on the HBO fantasy show, Olivia’s comments seem to back up her comrade.

Olivia, who played adult Allicent Hightower in the Game Of Thrones prequel, reflected on the series’ runaway success, and on reading the reactions on social media to her role in House of the Dragon said: ‘There was an immediate visibility that I hadn’t experienced walking down the street. I’m so naïve, but I think I was purposely so because I didn’t want to confront this anxiety.
‘The Game of Thrones fans have been quite noisy, and having to block your ears and eyes from that has been a challenge. It’s like the school playground – you want to know what everyone is saying about you and what’s been said.’
Olivia’s co-star, Emily Carey, who played a younger Allicent, previously revealed she was driven off social media due to the reaction from fans.

Ahead of the first episode, Emily temporarily deleted her Twitter after receiving a tonne of hate following an appearance at Comic Con.
In July the star received intense criticism for suggesting she’d given ‘villain’ Alicent a backstory in an effort to humanise her when preparing for her potrayal. Turns out fans were not ok with this and slammed Emily for apparently not going by George R R Martin’s book.
And despite receiving support from many a fan, it was the hate that took over.
She said: ‘I love social media. I’m 19, so I’m all on social media, and I’ve been on social media since I was a kid because I’ve worked since I was a kid so I’m very conscious of things … Any hate that comes in, it’s just … It’s a person behind a screen. You just have to move on from it.
‘But I will say I did delete Twitter [after Comic-Con] because it’s just so loud. Even when it’s good, there’s so many and it’s so loud.’
