Love Island contestant Ollie Williams has detailed his injuries after being taken to intensive care following a horror fall from a balcony.

The heir to a £15million estate in Cornwall appeared in the 2020 winter edition of the ITV juggernaut series but lasted just three days in the villa.

Ollie made the difficult decision to leave South Africa after being partnered up with Paige Turley to pursue the ‘love of his life’ ex-girlfriend.

On Christmas Eve, the reality TV contestant shared a picture of himself with bandages and a head bruise lying on a hospital bed on his Instagram account.

Ollie told his followers he had fallen from a balcony last weekend and was treated in intensive care after the scary incident.

He revealed he had suffered a broken pelvis, wrist and internal bleeding.

Ollie wrote: ‘I wasn’t really prepared to post this until I was out of the woods proper, which I now think I am (hopefully!).

‘I fell off a balcony last weekend and ended up in intensive care with a broken pelvis, wrist and internal bleeding.

With the incredible support of @lauranofer , my family and friends and some great surgeons; I’m on the mend. Tough rehab ahead but I am confident along with my doctors I will make a full recovery.

‘I really couldn’t have dealt with this mentally without all of your messages of support, so thank you.

‘Be back soon, big love and Merry Christmas all.’

Fans were quick to wish Ollie a speedy recovery, with one writing: ‘Get well soon, glad you’re being looked after.’

‘I hope the recovery is quick and as pain-free as possible. Merry Christmas,’ a follower commented, while many others said they were pleased to see Ollie ‘on the mend.

After quitting the reality series, Ollie spoke about the drama that surrounded his departure and explained how TV bosses tried to get him to stay.

‘I went to the producers on day five in the villa and I was like, “guys, I’m feeling this.” And they were like “whoa, dude. Just take a step back”,’ he began.

‘Just in hindsight, you know, in hindsight, I was like bare PR for them, good or bad. So they were like “please stay, please stay.” And they were asking me to stay, you know? So I sort of said, “alright, I’ll give it 24 hours”.

‘So I gave it 24 hours and spoke to a couple of the boys off the record and they were like “mate, think about, not even about the love, just get in a friendship couple. Just think about all the deals that will come out of it and stuff. And think about all the followers”.’
