The Traitors star Nicky Wilding has managed to raise over £36,000 for surgery and prosthetics, which is more than the winners took home in the final.

Aaron Evans, Hannah Byczkowski, and Meryl Williams split the £101,050 prize pot between them after correctly banishing Traitor Wilfred Webster in the final moments, pocketing £33,683 each.

But Nicky, 44, who was the first Faithful to be eliminated from the BBC series, is well on her way to achieving her £80,000 fundraising goal after a JustGiving page was set up in her honour.

Nicky is hoping to garner £80,000 to pay for both further amputation to reduce her pain, as well as a £30,000 ground-breaking myoelectric model, which would allow her to control her prosthetic hand’s movements via thought.

‘I’ve been fundraising for quite some time now,’ she previously told Metro.co.uk.

‘It’s a lot to keep asking the same pool of people for money and it’s hard and it’s a large sum of money I need to raise, but I’m continuing on with my fundraising, whether that be with triathlons or running events or general adventuring.

‘Anything outdoors and anything a little bit out there, if I can challenge and push myself and it makes people think, actually, she deserves this fiver or tenner, or whatever, people wanna help people who wanna help themselves.’

According to Nicky’s fundraising page, she has been living in constant pain for the last two decades, after a devastating car crash at the age of 22 left her without the use of her right arm.

The mum-of-one suffered a severe brachial plexus injury, damaging the nerves in her right hand and forearm.

Since 1999, she has undergone numerous muscle and nerve transplants in an attempt to restore function, all while raising her son, now 26, alone.
