Madonna has shared rare snaps of her two sons, David Banda, 17, and Rocco Ritchie, 22, on a trip to Kenya.

The 64-year-old Like a Virgin singer rarely posts pics of her six children, but in an outpouring of Instagram posts from her most recent trip to Africa, Madonna shared a picture of her sons sitting together in what appears to be a school.

The superstar has been documenting her family’s African adventure for a week now with snappy videos from her time previously spent in Malawi, including footage of her New Year’s Eve party, which she enjoyed with her children.

The snap of Rocco and David appeared amongst a flurry of Instagram stories promoting Kenyan eco-fashion house Ministry of Tomorrow from Kibera, a neighborhood of Nairobi in Kenya.

The star can be seen at the fashion house chatting to school children, dressed in a chunky jumper with bold flowers on it, a black sunhat and pigtails. The pop icon captioned one photo with ‘Knowledge is Power’ and another with ‘Every child deserves an education’ alongside pictures of various children.

The previous day, the star posted a video of her and her family making a broken-glass mural of a dove in the same region of Kenya’s capital.

So far, the family have visited Malawi and Kenya on their African trip.

Last week, whilst visiting the charity she founded in 2006 – Raising Malawi – Madonna shared a video to accompany the release of her new single, Back That Up To The Beat, with the footage mainly comprised of people dancing.

Madonna, clad in head-to-toe Gucci, was seen mingling with children and getting well and truly stuck in.

As well as her boys, both of whom she shares with director Guy Ritchie, Madonna has four daughters; 26-year-old Lourdes Leon, 16-year-old Mercy and 10-year-old twins Stelle and Estere.

The Material Girl singer shares her eldest, Lourde, with personal trainer turned actor Carlos Leon, from whom she split in 1997. David, Mercy, Stelle and Estere were all born in Malawi and later adopted by the singer.

Madonna often talks about how her kids are her everything, and in an interview with People in 2017, she opened up about her adoption journey and why she did it.

‘Sometimes I would just close my eyes and just think, “Why isn’t my kitchen filled with dancing children?” There’s so many children that need a home,’ the pop icon said. ‘I thought, ‘What am I waiting for? Just do it.’

David, Madonna’s first adopted child, is thought to be the apple of the superstar’s eye.

In an interview with Vogue in 2019, she said: ‘He’s the one I have the most in common with. I feel like he gets me; he has more of my DNA than any of my children so far.’
