The Masked Singer is back for its fourth series here in the UK, and the chants of ‘Take it off! Take it off!’ have, well, really taken off.

The series is proving to be an unmissable, maddening hit once again, with viewers flocking to social media to throw out their guesses – from the sensible to the outlandish (could that REALLY be Kate Bush?)

As the series continues (with the masked stars competing for what, exactly?), let’s keep track of which stars have been unmasked so far…

Ghost – Chris Kamara

Ghost was the first star unmasked – with some finding the unmasking quite underwhelming due to the ‘budget’ costume – but the guy behind the ghoul made up for the lacklustre outfit.

It was none other than sport and broadcasting legend Chris Kamara!

Kamara was unmasked after taking part in the very first episode of the new series, where he belted out a version of the Drifters’ classic Save the Last Dance For Me.

The former pro footballer went through his clues and what they meant, sharing that he previously had two albums out, and has done duets with big stars, such as Robbie Williams and Danny Jones.

As for the references to other TV shows, Chris famously hosts Cash in the Attic, and another clue referred to his time in the navy before he got into football.

Talking about taking part in the show, he said: ‘My grandkids, we’ll sit around together and they’ll have no idea. They love this show. They just sing, “Take it off”, and grandad’s going to turn around!”‘

Talking about his costume choice of a ghost, he added in a post-show Q&A: ‘It resonated with me because it was so simple and fun. I just loved the concept and thought my grandkids would love it as well.’

Piece of Cake – Lulu

Weeeeellllllllll… this one made many fans shout.

Iconic singer Lulu was the second star unmasked, when it was revealed she was the secret ingredient behind A Piece of Cake.

Many fans online had already guessed Lulu was Piece of Cake due to some leading clues, including her referencing Lovers – the name of her 1960s band was The Luvvers – and hints that made people think of Shout, her most famous song.

Asked why she decided to compete on the programme, Lulu added: ‘My grandchildren love this show, they love it! I love it too and that’s why
I’m here. Because it’s such a fun show.’

As for why she chose to be A Piece of Cake, the pop icon said it’s because she’s ‘just so terribly sweet.’

The Masked Singer 2023 continues on Saturday at 7pm on ITV1.
