Mama mia, that’s a tasty looking burger Provider: Universal Studios Hollywood

The new Nintendo theme park in L.A. has its own on-brand cafe, including dishes such as Super Mushroom Soup Salad and Chef Toad Rib Special.

The Super Nintendo World area at Universal Studios Hollywood opens on February 17 in L.A. and if you’re able to pay it a visit you’ll find it full of Mushroom Kingdom marvels, including a Mario Kart ride and other interactive attractions.

There’s also an exclusive gift shop (naturally) and a restaurant called Toadstool Cafe, that is filled with Super Mario-themed nourishment.

Although the cafe also isn’t open yet there have been previews already, revealing that the menu leans towards Italian American and includes such delights as a Piranha Plant Caprese Salad and a Mario Burger, complete with a little hat and a moustache shape burned onto the top of the bun.

These were already sold at the Japanese theme park, which also has a cute line in pancake sandwiches, but the American restaurant also offers exclusive fare such as a Super Star Chicken Salad and the Luigi Burger with pesto and chicken.

As you’d expect, there’s an awful lot of mushroom on the menu, as well as more complex meals such as the Chef Toad Short Rib Special, which is meant to look like Toad’s hat/head (which it is, has never been resolved).

Now you can eat the Piranha Plant, not the other way round Provider: Universal Studios Hollywood

For dessert you can treat yourself to a Princess Peach cupcake, a Mt. Beanpole cake slice with matcha topping, or some tiramisu in the shape of a question mark block.

According to website Eater LA, there’s no booze but you can get Super Star Lemon Squash lemonade to wash it all down.

This sort of thing is common at theme parks, especially when it comes to established franchises like Star Wars and Harry Potter, but the most surprising thing about Toadstool Cafe is that it’s not outrageously expensive.

The rib special is the costliest meal at $22 (£18), but that’s as high as it goes, with some simple garlic knots that can be ordered for as little as $6 (£5) each.
