Another leak has come to light about the much-speculated DLC expansion for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, here’s what it’s about…

Players are eager to learn what’s next for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, with many hoping that a rumoured DLC expansion will soon become a reality.

It seems an inevitability given Sword and Shield had two but already evidence has begun to emerge of its content, thanks to a number of leaks.

One of these suggests that the DLC pack will likely include paradox forms for Suicune and Virizion. These are both legendary pokémon and were introduced with Generation II and V, respectively.

Paradox pokémon are a special group introduced in Scarlet and Violet, that are portrayed as antecedents (if you’re Scarlet) or future evolutions (in Violet) of existing pokémon. So, for example, Great Tusk looks like an ancient version of Donphan.

The leak implies that Suicune will be added to Scarlet, meaning you’ll see its ancient version, and Virizion will be added to Violet with a new futuristic version.

More recent leaks covered the possible type combinations of both Paradox Suicune and Virizion, with their signature moves also appearing on Twitter.

Can confirm, lmao. Hydro Steam (1117) and Psyblade (1135) are selectable moves. pic.twitter.com/nPeigEqMcu

The first move is called Hydro Steam and it’s supposedly Paradox Suicune’s signature move, which could be either a Water/Fire hybrid or an Ice and Fire-type creature.

The second move is called Psyblade and it’s supposedly Paradox Virizion’s signature move, which is rumoured to be either a Grass/Psychic or a Fighting/Psychic type.

Because Hydro Steam sounds a lot like a Water-type move, it’s likely that Paradox Suicune could be Water and Fire type pokémon, though other leakers disagree with this reasoning.

On the other hand, Paradox Virizion seems like it’s going to be a Psychic type, that either keeps its Grass or its Fighting abilities. Other rumours suggest Paradox Virizion is a Poison type creature called Withered Virizion

An unintended leak also recently convinced fans that six new pokémon might be making a return to Scarlet and Violet.

All this remains speculation for now, but more details could surface in the next few months, either via leaks or when Game Freak makes an official announcement.
