Peaky Blinders actor Paul Anderson has denied claims of misconduct following a complaint from a colleague.

The 44 -year-old actor played Arthur Shelby in the BBC Birmingham drama which wrapped up its sixth and final series in April 2022.

According to reports, the complaints came to light ahead of the series’ film finale, raising questions over Anderson’s involvement in the project.

The star has strongly denied the claims, however, the complaint has reportedly been investigated by the show’s producers. 

A source shared: ‘Paul has had an issue to deal with away from the set after a claim was made — which he completely denies. Of course, it is being looked into thoroughly.’

The Sun also claims that the latest claims have ‘cast a cloud’ over his casting.

Set between the two World Wars, the hit BBC programme follows the Peaky Blinders street gang in Birmingham with Cillian Murphy’s ambitious crime boss Tommy Shelby at the forefront.

The series ran between 2013 and 2022, gaining an international audience and leaving a big mark on popular culture.

In September 2022, show creator Steven Knight promised that a Peaky Blinders film will be released in the future, but not until 2024 at the earliest.

‘The film is definitely happening. I’m writing the script at the moment, I am in the process of writing. As soon as that’s finished, we will go into production,’ he said.

Knight added that he couldn’t be happier to welcome Murphy, 46, back as gang leader Tommy.

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: ‘It is phenomenal [to know Cillian is returning] and he’s a phenomenal actor and human being.’
