A Reddit user has shared their grandma’s game collection, which consists of multiple Game Boy Advance SPs and two dozen copies of Wario Land 4.

We’ve all had those games that we love so much that we’re willing to double dip for them. Whether it’s for a re-release with extra content or just to have it available on another platform.

How many of you, though, would buy the exact same game three times? Or four times? Even that seems excessive, especially when games are becoming more and more expensive.

One person, however, has discovered that their gaming enthusiast grandma bought 26 copies of a single game. That game? Wario Land 4 for the Game Boy Advance.

Her collection also contains at least 19 Game Boy Advance SPs and 13 copies of Super Mario Ball.

This discovery was shared by her grandchild, Reddit user KrisReed, after only recently uncovering it for themselves.

From the sound of it, their grandma has sadly died, since they have no clue why she hoarded so many copies. Although they theorise that it was because she didn’t know how to overwrite her save files and thought she had to buy a new copy every time she wanted to start a fresh playthrough.

That said, she also left behind notes for her grandchildren explaining the games and even tutorials she printed from websites, making it a ‘bittersweet’ memento for KrisReed.

Many of the responses are impressed by this grandma’s gamer cred, while others have suggested other theories for why she bought so many of the same consoles and games.

‘I think with all the offspring she had there is a copy for everyone as a memento of her awesomeness. She probably picked a lot of them from flea markets and such by looking at the price tags,’ posits calliLast.

SkylandersKirby jokingly says that she simply got scammed by Wario himself to ‘buy 26 copies of his greatest achievement.’

Several users have even offered to buy one of the consoles and/or games for themselves. At the time of writing, KrisReed hasn’t said what they intend to do with the collection.
