Megans around the UK will be flocking to the cinema this weekend to see the latest horror flick M3GAN, because they can get tickets for free.
Yes, Megan, you heard that right.
In a little bit of compensation for being the name behind the UK’s creepiest film of 2023 so far, one cinema chain has announced that anyone called Megan can watch the film on the house this weekend.
The horror film, which was released in the UK on January 13, has created quite the storm, with critics branding it ‘bonkers but brilliant’, and M3GAN, the main character who is also a really creepy robot-doll, has already been dubbed an ‘instant icon’.
Move over Chucky, because there’s a new psycho doll in town.
So how can you claim free tickets if you’re called Megan? Here’s what you need to know.
How can you claim free tickets for M3GAN?
All you need to do to claim the freebie if your name is Megan is turn up to your nearest Showcase Cinema with a valid driving licence or passport.
The offer still stands if you’re a middle of the road Megan, so you can still get a free ticket if you’re called Meghan, Meggan and Meg, for example – the Duchess of Sussex must be thrilled.
But no fear if you’re not called Megan, because you can still see the film at Showcase Cinemas for a discounted price of £7.50 after 7pm on Sunday, all day Monday and Tuesday too.
What’s M3GAN about?
The story starts when M3GAN is created by tech whiz and unexpected carer Gemma (Allison Williams) to keep her eight-year-old niece, Cady, company.
Except in true psycho-doll form (has Gemma never seen Annabelle?) things get a bit murder-y, when M3GAN becomes obsessed with protecting Cady.
What follows is an unnerving, hilarious ride in which you’re not sure whether to laugh or cry.
So buckle up Megans, because you’re in for a treat.

The film has been branded a PG-13, after the creators changed some scenes.
Australia producer James Wan is feeling pretty positive about the film to say the least, and has already hinted at creating a M3GAN cinematic franchise.
In an interview with Collider, he said: ‘What I will say to that is, whether it’s The Conjuring Universe, or Saw, or Malignant, or M3GAN here, we like to think of a bigger world.

‘For me, it’s about creating the world, and knowing who the characters are, where the story could potentially go, and then building this bigger world, and then going into that and going, “Okay, I’m telling this particular story, but I know other stuff that’s going on.”‘
The Aquaman director added: ‘So if we’re fortunate enough to have sequels, then we have an idea of where we want to go.’
