Only Fools and Horses star Nicholas Lyndhurst will be joining Kelsey Grammer in the upcoming Frasier sequel series, it has been announced.
While details of the plot have so far been kept tightly under wraps, Kelsey, who played radio psychiatrist Dr Crane, has so far been the only confirmed cast member, and previously said he hoped the original cast will return.
According to reports, Rodney Trotter actor Nicholas will play Alan Cornwall.
‘Frasier’s old college buddy turned university professor. British, boozy and larger than life, Alan has an intellect on par with Frasier’s—if only he ever felt like using it,’ a statement confirmed to Variety.
‘Alan’s mischievous streak might be just what Frasier could use to shake up his routine, while Frasier’s thoughtful guidance might help Alan find some of the direction he’s been missing in his own life.’

After the Paramount+ revival was announced back in 2021, Kelsey teased preparations so far, suggesting that it will be an emotional reunion.
Appearing on the View, he was asked what the ‘key ingredient’ was to the long-running sitcom.

‘The key ingredient for the Frasier reboot is actually Frasier. It was always called that, it’s me… The key is me. I am the key,’ he laughed, before explaining that ‘conversations’ have been had about possibly beginning filming in October.
‘There are a couple of other things coming up,’ he continued. ‘We’ve developed a couple of other projects that look like they’re going to shoot first.’
‘We’re in the final stages of the final script for the first episode of the Frasier reboot. It looks pretty good.
