Stephanie McMahon has undergone surgery to fix an ankle injury just days after resigning from WWE.

The former co-CEO and chair of the wrestling giant stepped down from both roles this week as her father Vince McMahon returned as executive chairman, and now she has joked about how hectic her week has been.

Stephanie shared a photo of herself in a hospital gown smiling in bed and waving to the camera, alongside another picture showing her leg in a cast.

She captioned the photo: ‘Busy week! Thank you Dr. Waldrop, @andrews_sports_medicine and the Orthopedic Center Staff for fixing my ankle!

‘And to @wilk_kevin @championsportsmedicine for already getting me started on rehab! (And of course to my amazing caregiver @TripleH ❤️) #RoadtoRecovery’.

Stephanie gave special thanks to her husband Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, who is still part of the WWE management team as Chief Content Officer, a position which means he oversees creative, talent relations, live events and more.

Stephanie is yet to reveal what caused her injury.

She received messages of support from the likes of WWE superstar Kofi Kingston, who commented: ‘He fixed my ankle too! You are great hands! Godspeed on your recovery!’

Raw star Dana Brooke added: ‘Wishing you a speedy speedy recovery’, while SmackDown’s Santos Escobar replied with a praying hands emoji.

‘Wishing you a painless and speedy recovery,’ replied one of her followers, and another said: ‘Get well Steph!! (sic)’

Stephanie stepped down from her WWE roles earlier this week, with her dad Vince returning to power as executive chairman days after his comeback to the board of directors following his retirement in July 2022 amid an investigation into allegations of misconduct.

In a lengthy statement, she referenced her ‘leave of absence’ around eight months ago before taking up her roles following Vince’s retirement, and said: ‘Our Founder, Vince McMahon, has returned as Executive Chair and is leading an exciting process regarding strategic alternatives.

‘And with [CEO Nick Khan’s] leadership and Paul “Triple H” Levesque as Chief Content Officer, I am confident WWE is in the perfect place to provide unparalleled creative content and drive maximum value for shareholders.’

Mr. McMahon announced his plans to return to the board to work ‘collaboratively with the Board and management team’ to explore options for the company, including rights deals and a potential sale.
