Lewis Capaldi’s first tour show descended into chaos after one very excited fan decided to throw their underwear on stage.

The Scottish singer, 26, is known for being somewhat of a comedian, and you’d be forgiven for mistaking his gigs for stand-up shows, given all the jokes he makes.

And he certainly had the crowd in stitches as he kicked off his sold-out arena tour in Leeds, ahead of the release of his second studio album, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent.

At one point during his set, Lewis lightened the mood after belting out his emotional love songs by holding up a bra that had been chucked his way.

The Bruises hitmaker initially held the grey undergarment by its strap, pulling a very confused expression.

But as the audience chanted for him to ‘put it on,’ Lewis was more than happy to give them what they paid for.

Moving his guitar out of the way, Lewis channelled his inner Victoria’s Secret model and put the lacy bra on over his cream tracksuit.

‘This is padded, someone out there is a f***ing liar,’ he quipped.

‘Thank you,’ he told the audience as they cheered at hilarious sight.

‘When I imagined the opening night of my sell-out arena tour, this isn’t what I was thinking,’ Lewis said.

After sharing the video with his millions of followers on social media, Lewis was met with some side-splitting responses.

‘He can fill it up more than me 😳’, one laughed.

‘ABSOLUTE LEGEND. can’t lie though it suits you 😳’, wrote another and, honestly, we agree.

‘I love how your performance is 80% music 20% comedic genius 😂’, praised another fan.

The year has started off strong for Lewis, thanks to his sell-out tour and his Brits nomination (Picture: PA)

It’s fair to say 2023 has got off to a cracking start for Lewis so far, and not just with his tour dates.

The award-winning star has also been nominated for a Brit in the song of the year with his number one hit Forget Me.

He’s in good company too, as the likes of Harry Styles, George Ezra, Dave, and Ed Sheeran have all been recognised for their tunes.

If he does win, the trophy will be a very nice addition to Lewis’ mantlepiece, which already boasts a song of the year gong thanks to Someone You Loved’s win in 2020.
