Sunday nights are about to get sparkly again as Dancing On Ice returns to ITV, kicking off its 2023 series on Sunday January 15.
The new series will see 11 brand new celebrities – some pretty familiar faces among them – take to the ice alongside their professional partners to show off their skating skills as they bid to become this year’s champion, and hopefully survive the dreaded skate-off.
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Joey Essex, The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran and Coronation Street’s Mollie Gallagher are among those competing for the title in a series which has already brought the drama before anyone has even got their skates on.
But just who won Dancing On Ice in 2022? Let’s offer ourselves a reminder of the reigning champion…
Who won Dancing On Ice in 2022?
The 2022 series of Dancing On Ice was won by Regan Gascoigne and his skating partner Karina Manta.
Regan – who is a dancer and the son of former England footballer Paul Gascoigne – fought off competition in the final from ex-Strictly pro Brendan Cole, as well as the Pussycat Dolls’ Kimberly Wyatt, to be crowned winner.
Both he and runner-up Brendan scored perfect 40s across the board for their final routines – which culminated in both of them taking on Torvill and Dean’s legendary Bolero.
‘I am so overwhelmed, I never thought this was possible,’ Regan said in emotional scenes as he lifted the trophy.
