Christina Applegate was glowing at the Critics’ Choice Awards in LA on Sunday night.

It marked the first time Applegate has attended an awards ceremony since her multiple sclerosis diagnosis back in August 2021, and the Anchorman star was joined at the glitzy bash by her 11-year-old daughter Sadie.

The lookalike mum and daughter duo posed together backstage and both looked seriously stylish in all black.

While 51-year-old Applegate’s daughter kept her Covid mask pulled up over her nose and mouth, she removed hers for snaps.

The doting mum was up for the for best actress in a comedy series gong for her performance in Netflix’s Dead to Me, but lost out on the award to Jean Smart from HBO’s Hacks.

Applegate skipped the red carpet but blew cameras a kiss inside the event and also posed up a storm with Julia Roberts.

It was while Applegate was filming Dead to Me’s last season 16 months ago that she received her MS diagnosis.

Treatment for her diagnosis caused the Netflix production to be set back by five months, a hiatus that was ultimately worsened by the Covid pandemic.

Completing its third and final season, Applegate pushed for filming to resume and the crew got underway to see it all the way to the end.

She took a backseat from the public eye following her diagnosis – which is a lifelong condition that damages nerves in the body and makes it difficult for sufferers to do everyday things, including walking, talking and eating.

MS causes a wide range of potential symptoms, including fatigue, difficulty walking, problems with balance and coordination, and issues with vision.

There is currently no cure, but a number of treatments can help symptoms.

Applegate confirmed she’d be in attendance at this year’s Critics’ Choice Awards prior to the ceremony, admitting she was ‘nervous’.
