Gemma Owen has opened up on the support she has received from fellow Love Island star turned PrettyLittleThing ambassador Molly-Mae Hague as she launches her new collection with the fashion label.
Molly-Mae, 23, who is the creative director of the brand, was runner-up on the hit ITV2 show with boyfriend Tommy Fury in 2019.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old Gemma reached the final of the show alongside ex-boyfriend Luca Bish last year.
Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk as she launches her range, Gemma – who is the daughter of footballer Michael Owen – said: ‘Molly-Mae’s been really, really supportive. We have each other on socials but she is obviously busy with her baby, she’s got bigger things going on with her baby on the way.’
Gemma also shared her excitement for the new series of the reality show, which returned to screens on Monday night.
‘I am looking forward to it,’ she said. ‘I think it’s going to be strange watching it again on the telly now that I’ve been in the villa.

‘It will be weird to start with but, yeah, I can’t wait to watch it. I think it’ll be really good.’
Discussing the show’s new host, Maya Jama, Gemma insisted she thinks she ‘will do a really good job’ and thinks she is ‘suited perfectly to the role.’
Turning attention to her collection, Gemma said of the design process: ‘It has been amazing. I’ve had more of a creative input with this one and we’ve come up with some amazing ideas that I can’t wait for everyone to see.

‘It’s been going on since September last year, that’s when we started pulling inspiration and discussing colour palettes. I’ve really enjoyed having such an input.
‘I really wanted to make it authentic to me and my style, really classic and timeless pieces. I love my neutrals so we’ve gone for neutral and earthy tones, but we do have a pattern in there.’
She added of her collaboration with Christopher Parnell, who is Head Of Design at PrettyLittleThing: ‘I’m lucky that Chris knows exactly my style and my colours.
