You can stop your efforts trying to find Vin Diesel in the army of Na’vi now as it’s confirmed that the actor does not make a secret cameo in Avatar: The Way Of Water.

Rumours that the Fast and Furious actor appears in the blockbuster sequel have been rife for years now, ever since he was spotted visiting director James Cameron on the film’s set.

Even with the film’s release, Diesel, 52, appears in the cast list when Googling the Avatar sequel and cinema-goers have been trying to spot him in scenes.

However, producer Jon Landau has set the record straight once and for all, confirming that, sadly, Diesel is not in Avatar.

‘Vin was a fan,’ Landau, 62, said of Diesel’s set visit.

He added to Empire: ‘He came in, visited the set one day to see what we were doing and people took that out of context.’

It was also sparked by an Instagram video which xXx actor Diesel posted in 2019 of him hanging out with Cameron on-set of the Avatar sequels.

In the clip, Diesel said: ‘It’s long overdue, there is one person in Hollywood I’ve always wanted to work with and learn from and so, all things come, I guess, to those that wait.’

Titanic director Cameron then teased the ‘top secret’ project and joked: ‘We’re actually gonna give him the flashy thing from Men In Black when he leaves here so he has no memory whatsoever of what he’s seen.’

Diesel captioned the post: ‘And the journey continues… #Blessed #Grateful #Avatar.’

Even if not in Avatar, fans should rest assured that Diesel will be back on screens soon enough with roles in Fast X and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. among projects in the pipeline.

It’s no surprise that long-awaited The Way of Water has smashed box office figures and quickly passed $1.5billion worldwide. Cameron previously said he was confident the ‘very f*****g expensive’ sequel would break even on its eye-watering budget, and the third instalment in the franchise will be hot on its heels with a scheduled release date of December 24.
