We might only be two days into the new series of Love Island, but many fans think they’ve sussed who’ve going to be the first person dumped from the island.

On tonight’s episode of the 2023 show, bombshell Tom Clare had an important choice to make, as he was given the power to pick a girl to couple up with.

All of the girls were already in couples with the other boys in the villa in South Africa – meaning that one boy would be left vulnerable by the footballer’s decision.

In the end, Tom opted for Olivia Hawkins, having been left wowed by her demonstration of her ring girl skills, leaving farmer Will Young in a risky position ahead of the first elimination of Winter Love Island.

The quick recoupling has led any fans to predict that Will may be the first contestant dumped on the show, as he’s so far failed to forge a strong connection with any potential romantic matches.

‘Just put £1000 on Will being first to go home,’ one person tweeted, while another wrote: ‘I just know will is gonna be the first one out poor boy.’

Some were upset over the prospect of Will going home, as he’d already provided plenty of entertainment with his awkward dance moves.

‘Honestly watch will get dumped first. That’s gonna be sad,’ a viewer stated, while another remarked: ‘Feel so sorry for Will. He is clearly such a nice guy but he’s not gonna be the first to go isn’t he.’

However, given the twist that was revealed at the end of Tuesday’s episode, all may not be as it seems.

There are two brand new bombshells heading into the villa, so who knows who they’re going to connect with when they stir the pot?

Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown, 25, and David Salako, 24, are both set to join the line-up on Wednesday night, with the former promising to ‘bring spice’ to the mix.

David, on the other hand, admitted that he’s very picky, stating: ‘The person you’re going to meet is never going to be perfect, but I’ve got my standards, yeah.’

So could Zara end up being Will’s saving grace to keep him on the show?

Love Island returns on Wednesday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
