Will Mellor has opened up about living behind Liam Gallagher’s London home, and while their relationship started smoothly, the former Oasis frontman ended up completely ghosting Will.
The reason why? Well, that’d be Will’s football team of choice.
The Hollyoaks star revealed on Wednesday that once Liam found out he was a Manchester United fan, he ‘never spoke to him again’.
Will, 46, recalled how he stepped out onto his back porch during a match that Man United were winning and spotted Liam.
Seeing as they’re both from the Manchester area, Will presumed the musician would be pleased by the score and quipped: ‘We’re doing alright, aren’t we?’ Those would be the last five words he ever uttered to City fan Liam.
Speaking to Jackie Brambles on Greatest Hits Radio, the actor explained in full: ‘I used to rent a flat in London when I was working there, and my flat backed on to Liam Gallagher’s garden.

‘When I first moved in, he came round on a BMX and went, “Alright? Welcome to the area” – the only northerners around!’
Will went on: ‘One day I was watching Man United on the telly and at half time we were winning, so I came out and stood on my back porch as Liam was in his garden, and shouted: “We’re doing alright, aren’t we?”
‘He went: “What?! Are you a Red?”, I said yes, and he just gave me the two-finger wave, walked back into his house and never spoke to me again. Not quite as neighbourly once he realised I was a United fan!’
Will said he lost so much weight during his Strictly Come Dancing stint that his watch didn’t fit him anymore (Picture: PA)
It comes after Will said he lost so much weight during his Strictly Come Dancing stint that his watch didn’t fit him anymore.
The Coronation Street star just missed out on a place in last year’s final and but he admitted despite it being so tough, the whole experience put him in a fantastic place.
Appearing on Monday’s episode of This Morning, he said: ‘Strictly was mentally and physically the fittest I’ve been in a long time… It was great for me!
‘My watch didn’t fit me! I didn’t know I had chunky wrists but I do! I lost weight everywhere.’
Will admitted the emotional experience, which came after his dad died following a short cancer battle in 2020, was the ‘hardest’ career challenge he’s taken on to date.
‘I think it’s probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done, work wise, just because of how consuming it is. You’re in this bubble and once you go into it, you don’t come out of it until you leave the show,’ he explained.

‘The one day off, all you’ll think about is, you’re resting yourself, you’re icing your knees, thinking about starting again tomorrow.’
The actor will soon be back on the dancefloor for the upcoming Strictly live tour with his professional partner Nancy Xu and we can’t wait to see him busting moves again.
