Desperate to see Madonna live but gutted she’s only doing one London date? Well, turn that frown upside down, folks, because she’s added another!

Following (predictable) ‘overwhelming demand,’ the singer will now play two dates at the capital’s O2 Arena in her global tour.

Celebrating her iconic career in music, the shows will feature her greatest hits from four decades, so expect everything from Hung Up to Like A Prayer, from Holiday to Material Girl on the set-list.

The Queen of Pop will visit 35 cities during Madonna: The Celebration Tour, which kicks off in Vancouver in Canada on July 15 and will be followed by stops across North America.

Madonna, 64, will then cross over to Europe, where she will perform in 11 cities throughout the autumn.

Her only concert at The O2 was set to take place on October 14, before she headed to Barcelona, Paris and Stockholm, then finishing at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on December 1.

However, it was announced on Thursday (January 19) that the pop megastar will also take to the stage at London’s O2 on October 15 in back-to-back performances.

Naturally, fans are buzzing to have a second chance at seeing the award-winning star live in the flesh but, given how in-demand Madonna is, getting tickets is sure to be a struggle.

Already there has been uproar over ticket prices following the initial pre-sale, with some selling for thousands.

According to The Liverpool Echo in the first few minutes of the 9am pre-sale opening, prices were seen to start at £47.55 for standard seated tickets, and rose up to £1,306.75 for chosen VIP packages, with hardly any options under £400 after not too long.

As time went on and more fans desperately tried to secure tickets, the more affordable seats snapped up instantly.

In the end, some it’s believed that some resellers started flogging their own tickets for over £3,000.

The tour is bound to be one to remember, though, having already been billed a ‘one-of-a-kind experience.’

And as if Madonna herself wasn’t enough, the tour also features special guest Bob the Drag Queen – real name Caldwell Tidicue – across all dates.

Announcing the global tour on Tuesday, Madonna shared a black and white video which featured DJ Diplo, actor Jack Black and rapper Lil Wayne, and culminated with comedian Amy Schumer daring the global superstar to go on tour.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 20 at 10am GMT.
