20 new recruits are being put through their paces for the eighth series of SAS: Who Dares Wins, as Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham, Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox, and Rudy Reyes are joined by new Directing Staff (DS) Chris Oliver in the toughest jungle depths of Vietnam.
They’ll be undertaking a series of brutal challenges to see if they have what it takes to survive till the end.
But one recruit is no stranger to showing off their physical strength on camera, as recruit number six is a professional wrestler who has previously appeared on WWE TV.
Stevie, who goes by the stage name of Stevie Starr, has been wrestling for 14 years and has even performed as a stunt man in a Marvel film.
The 38-year-old wrestled WWE Superstar Roman Reigns on WWE TV under the name Gavin Reid, where he lost to the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion in two minutes.
Stevie, who works as a doorman for a cocktail bar when he’s not in the ring doing body slams, was signed by WWE in 2012.
After a short stint, with Stevie parting from WWE one year later, he continued wrestling in Wales for promotions including Welsh Wrestling.

Speaking about taking on the tough challenges for SAS: Who Dares Wins, Stevie said: ‘ I wanted to test myself in situations completely out of my comfort zone, I’m a bit stuck in my ways so wanted to prove to myself I could take on new challenges and not chicken out.’
Talking about what he wanted to get out of the intense experience, he continued: ‘I wanted to leave there with pride about how I did and all I accomplished, and to try my best at every task.

‘I’ve always struggled with self-confidence, so to come away after facing my
fears in a situation with 20 strangers would be a big accomplishment for me.
‘So coming away with a new self-belief was the most important to me.’
