US authorities searching for Julian Sands have revealed he was still ‘on the move’ two days after he was reported missing.
The British actor, 65, who appeared in Ocean’s 13, A Room With a View, and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, was reported missing earlier this week.
Sands’ family reported him missing earlier this month after he had not returned home after hiking California’s San Gabriel mountain range last week.
American police have also said there is ‘no hard deadline’ for calling off the search as bad weather continues to hinder the rescue effort.
As of Thursday evening, visibility at high altitudes in the Mount Baldy area remained poor, with searches planned to continue when conditions permitted.
‘We will schedule another ground search when the weather improves, and it is safe for our ground crews,’ a spokesperson from the department told the PA.

Earlier this week, Sands’ family discovered the actor’s car in a car park, from where it has subsequently been towed.
Residents in the area of the tallest mountain in the range, Mt. Baldy, described the snow and sleet as ‘extreme’ but said they weren’t ruling out hope of finding him.
Stephanie Coyle, an employee of the Mt. Baldy ski range, said: ‘Conditions can be extreme and even as a resident we don’t hike this time of year.’

She continued: ‘It’s sketchy, it can be very dangerous. Other people have gone missing and get injured every year.’
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department previously urged hikers to ‘think twice and heed warnings’ following treacherous weather in the region.
Its search and rescue teams had responded to 14 calls on Mount Baldy and in the surrounding area over the last four weeks.
Reverend Richard Coles said he was praying for Sands’ return, revealing that he was once close with members of the actor’s family.

Sands, who was born in Yorkshire, was a breakout star in the 1980s and appeared in A Room With a View alongside Dame Maggie Smith and Sir Daniel Day-Lewis.
He has also worked extensively in TV, most notably featuring in action drama series 24 and Superman prequel series Smallville.
