Dancing On Ice star Carley Stenson has revealed there’s a bit of healthy competition between her and her husband Danny Mac.

The Hollyoaks’ actress is battling against the likes of Towie’s Joey Essex, former EastEnders star Patsy Palmer, football legend John Fashanu, and Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.

Under the eyes of Dancing On Ice hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Carley and Mark will be vying to impress judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse.

Back in 2016, Danny made it to the Strictly Come Dancing final, where he came runner-up, losing out to Ore Oduba.

He even made history on his series, racking up a second consecutive perfect 40 with partner Oti.

Carley, 38, and Danny, 34, have been married for four years, having tied the knot in 2017.

Both actors previously starred in Hollyoaks, with Carley playing Steph Cunningham on the soap from 2000 until 2011 and Danny portraying Mark ‘Dodger’ Savage from 2011 until 2015.

And behind-the-scenes, there’s a bit of healthy competition between the two, as she now has a go on a dancing competition.

Chatting to Metro.co.uk and other press ahead of taking to the ice, Carley said: ‘He’s massively supportive. He’s like, “Come on Carl, this is your time now, don’t worry about me and Skye, I’ve got it covered.

‘He’s great like that, but then he also does add in, “I was runner-up though babe”.

‘So I have to beat him in that sense, but I just say to him, “Even if I just make the final, we’ll be equal!”‘

Danny and Carley share daughter Skye Bella, who was born in June 2021, with the pair revealing their happy news on Father’s Day.

They both posted a heartwarming video to their respective Instagram pages, which began with the moment Carley and Danny first shared their baby scan, before later showing a sweet snap of the newborn’s tiny hand holding onto theirs.

The clip then transitioned to a black screen, which read: ‘“Skye Bella”, Welcome to the world! 14.06.21.’

‘And then there were 5,’ they both captioned their posts.

Elsewhere, Carley told Metro.co.uk that she’s banned from taking part in the dangerous headbangers, saying her mum said ‘I’m not allowed’.

‘No genuinely, we’ve said we’re going to try and find something that’s just as challenging and just as impressive, so that’s a lot of homework for Mark.’

Dancing on Ice continues on Sunday at 6:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
