Dancing on Ice is back, and what a start it’s been for the whopping 15th series!

Week one saw Love Island star Ekin-Su almost melting the ice with her super-sexy routine to Britney Spears’ Toxic – not to mention her showstopping outfit – as the first half of the cast took to the rink. But she still landed herself in the skate-off after the public vote.

The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran ended up with concussion after a bang on the head during rehearsals. Meanwhile, Patsy Palmer and partner Matt Evers pulled off an upside-down sail to Ride On Time as fans marvelled that she’s 50.

Singer Michelle Heaton admitted she ‘didn’t think it would be so hard’, while Joey Essex couldn’t stop gushing over his partner Vanessa Bauer, and Olympian Nile Wilson looked like a pro skater from the off.

Now it’s time for the second half of the contestants to take to the ice – RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne, Coronation Street’s Mollie Gallagher, Hollyoaks’ Carley Stenson, comedian Darren Harriott and football legend John Fashanu.

When is Dancing on Ice on?

The next episode of Dancing on Ice 2023 airs at 6.30pm on Sunday, January 22.

The show will air live on ITV1.

But you will also be able to stream it live or catch up later through the ITVX player.

Last year, Dancing on Ice premiered around the same time (January 16) and finished on March 27, 2022 – so this year’s series could finish around the end of March again.

What are the routines on Dancing on Ice this week?

Mollie Gallagher and Sylvain Longchambon

Coronation street star Mollie Gallagher, 25, will be dancing to Angel Eyes by Abba with pro partner Sylvain Longchambon – and shared a show-stealing clip on Instagram of the pair having some fun with it!

Molly doesn’t think she’ll manage a ‘headbanger’ this series – but let’s wait and see!

Darren Harriott and Tippy Packard

Comedian Darren Harriott, 34, took to the ice to give fans a tease of his ‘booty shake’ before this week’s performance with pro partner and new face on Dancing on Ice, Tippy Packard. They’ll perform to Pitbull’s Fireball.

He says: ‘A lot of my friends who wouldn’t normally watch the show are going to, because they hope I’ll fall over!’

The Vivienne and Colin Grafton

Drag star The Vivienne, 30, shared a clip of a practise session with new pro Colin Grafton as she prepared to perform her routine to Strong Enough by the legendary Cher – otherwise known by The Vivienne as ‘my Queen’.

She’s lost nearly two stone in weight due to her gruelling training schedule!

John Fashanu and Alexandra Schauman

John Fashanu, 60, admits that ‘being 6ft 3 and trying to be Bambi on the ice is very difficult’.

He’s making his debut with pro partner and former winner Alexandra Schauman to Eat My Goal by Collapsed Lung, which hopefully won’t be a portent of what’s to come.

Carley Stenson and Mark Hanretty

Carley Stenson is teaming up with Glasgow-born pro Mark Hanretty and the West End star says she’s ‘going all-out’ to succeed! But she admits to be scared. ‘Performing live is scary. That is massive. I’ve never done live telly before apart from interviews.’

Carley and Mark will be skating to Say You Love Me by Jessie Ware.

What to expect from the new series: from the judges panel to running time change

All four judges from last year are in the hot seats. Skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have been on the show since the inception, and they are once again joined by Ashley Banjo.

The Diversity dancer has been on the show since 2018.

The judging panel is completed by Oti Mabuse, who joined in 2021.

The run time of the episodes this series is different.

A statement on social media announcing the series read: ‘This year the series is reduced to 90 minutes per episode; so rather than 6 dances in 2 hours, we’ll now have 11 dances in just an hour and a half.’

Who won Dancing on Ice 2022?

Regan Gascoigne and his professional skating partner Karina Manta were crowned champions of Dancing on Ice last year.

Struggling to hold back his tears as he lifted the trophy, Regan, son of football icon Paul Gascoigne, said: ‘I am so overwhelmed, I never thought it was possible.’

In his original performance, Regan’s skate, which was inspired by the circus and Torvill and Dean’s Barnum performance from the World Championships in 1983, left judge Jayne Torvill in tears.

She told him: ‘It is great to see that again, it puts a smile on my face every time I watch it, I think it is the fact that I know how difficult some of those moves are.’
