Sales of The Last Of Us Part 1 have risen by 238% thanks to the HBO show, but that still hasn’t got the game anywhere near the top 10.

Nintendo has claimed the first new number one of 2023, with Fire Emblem Engage. Sales were down 31% on 2019’s Three Houses but it’s impossible to tell if that’s because of the change in tone, the time of year (Three Houses launched in the summer) or the general economical situation at the moment.

Either way it’s still the second biggest launch ever for the series and with the percentage of sales going to digital downloads always on the increase Nintendo is unlikely to be unhappy with the game’s performance.

There were no other new releases in the top 40 but The Last Of Us Part 1 did see a 238% increase in sales following the debut of the HBO adaptation of the game. That’s not as impressive as it sounds though as sales prior to that were very low and the game only got boosted to number 20 in the charts. The Last Of Us Remastered also re-entered the top 40 at number 32, with a 322% increase.
