The Strokes have been announced as a headliner for All Points East 2023.

Julian Casablancas and co are set to take Victoria Park by storm on August 25 and will be joined by none other than the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Stormzy has also been confirmed as a headliner on what’s shaping up to be the most exciting London festival lineup of the year.

Organisers of the Tower Hamlets festival have promised a ‘huge day of anthemic rock from New York and beyond’ with Australian punks Amyl And The Sniffers, American singer-songwriter Angel Olsen, rock band Black Midi, indie rock band Julie, three-piece female rock band HotWax, and singer-songwriter Nieve Ella also joining the lineup.

Grammy-winners The Strokes are best known for early 2000s hits like Last Nite and Reptilia and previously played the festival in 2019.

They released their last album, The New Abnormal, in 2020. The record reached number three in the UK charts.

Tickets for The Strokes’ headline day drop on January 27 at 10am.

Meanwhile, Stormzy was announced as the first headliner in November and will perform at All Points East on Friday, August 18.

The 29-year-old grime star will also create his own line-up for the festival and his takeover will be called This Is What We Mean Day.

Speaking in a video announcement for the festival, Stormzy said: ‘I was thinking what’s next, cos we’ve done 3 O2s, shut that down. I said to the team, we gotta do something bigger, something better, something different.

‘We were having back-to-back meetings, bouncing ideas. Then it hit me, I started jotting down ideas thinking – live band, need a live band.

‘August 2023, a summertime thing, outside, for the people, always for my people. So August 2023, Victoria Park, more info coming soon… This Is What We Mean Day. Hard.’
