WWE superstar Nikkita Lyons is facing some time on the sidelines after suffering a nasty injury.

The 23-year-old wrestler, who appears for the company’s NXT developmental brand, has suffered a torn ACL and meniscus injury and opened up about her status on Twitter.

She wrote: ‘ACL & Meniscus are torn.🦵🏼This comeback is personal. Thank you to all who consistently show love & genuine support. it means the 🌎 to me.🦁

‘Those of you who don’t see the vision, thank you too. Stay ya a** right there. This is just another lesson life needed to teach. 🌻 Love. (sic)’

It’s not clear how long Nikkita will be out of action for.

Her most recent match came last week when she wrestled Jakara Jackson in a winning effort on Friday’s episode of NXT Level Up, which was taped three days earlier on January 17.

Nikkita, who previously worked for Women of Wrestling, signed a developmental deal with WWE in the summer of 2021 and made her official debut later that year on the December 31 episode of 205 Live in a loss to Amari Miller.

In February 2022, she made her NXT debut and was unfortunately removed from the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament three months later when she suffered a partial MCL tear and an MCL sprain.

She missed just over a month of in-ring action due to the injury, and returned on the June 28 episode of NXT to score a disqualification win over then-NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose.

Earlier this month, she was part of the NXT Women’s Title Number One Contender Battle Royal at New Year’s Evil on January 10, which was won by Toxic Attraction duo Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne.

On this week’s NXT, the pair outsmarted champion Roxanne Perez and sent her crashing through a table.

WWE NXT airs Tuesday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
