Love Island stars Dami Hope and David Salako found themselves in a fiery exchange after the winter contestant made a play for Indiyah Polack.

The 24-year-old was the first star eliminated from this year’s series after Tanya Mahenga decided to couple up with Shaq Muhammed.

Following his arrival back to the UK, season eight contestant Dami poked fun at David’s haircut and shared that he’ll ‘cut his hair’ for him.

However, David decided to call Dami out on TikTok.

‘Dami, you’ve been getting onto me since I left the villa,’ he said.

‘I’ve stolen your barber, you know what I’m going for next.’

Safe to say Dami wasn’t impressed with David’s quip and wasted no time in getting the last word.

‘You couldn’t even bag a girl in the villa, and you think you can take mine,’ he wrote via Instagram Stories alongside some laughing emojis.

In a new Secure the Insecure Podcast, shared with The Sun, David explained that he doesn’t intend on making a move on Dami’s girlfriend Indiyah.

‘Let’s be real, I’m not speaking to Indiyah at all,’ he explained.

‘Dami made comments about my appearance twice on social media.

‘I’ve not made one comment back because that’s not in my nature. So I have made a light hearted joke, just in response to his personal comments, and that was it.’

Dami and Indiyah first got together last summer while appearing on the 2022 series of Love Island and have gone from strength to strength ever since.

Indiyah currently fronts the Aftersun podcast with reality TV star Sam Thompson.

Elsewhere, winter contestant David recently confirmed that Zara Lackenby-Brown and Olivia Hawkins do have a history outside the villa amid their ongoing feud.

He said: ‘This is something that was discussed in the villa, they told everyone. I think Zara told everyone that she knew Liv, and Liv confirmed’.

He later continued: ‘Yeah, I just want to confirm that the beef between Zara and Olivia is 100% real’.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
