The View hosts were forced to deal with an awkward moment when a fart noise was heard live on air.

On Wednesday’s episode of the hit show, the panel – consisting of Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin – were in the middle of an in-depth discussion into reports that classified documents were found at Mike Pence’s home earlier this week.

However, the discussion quickly descended into chaos when Whoopi appeared to point out a spill to Sara, who instantly jumped off her chair to deal with the incident.

It was then that a loud fart noise could be heard, something that everyone else appeared to ignore.

As Joy sipped her drink, Alyssa giggled before informing viewers: ‘’We had a little spillage on the other side of the table.’

‘Now it’s on my pants,’ Sara replied while wiping her trousers, as Whoopi helped move the spillage away.

Like a true professional, she managed to get through the awkward scenes and jumped straight back into the discussion, joking that the process regarding classified documents in the White House may be ‘broken’ after security breaches.

When Sunny questioned Alyssa on what the official ‘process’ was, she laughed: ‘No one knows what it is. That’s why they all have papers.’

The interruption came just days after Whoopi was heckled by an audience member at the beginning of last week’s instalment.

The Ghost actress was making her way to her seat on Wednesday when an enthusiastic audience member could be heard shouting.

Initially ignoring the yells, she began introducing the show, but quickly turned to the person in question and clarified: ‘Did you just call me an old broad?’

The rest of the panel laughed off the question as Whoopi continued: ’She said, “You old broad,” and I was like, hey, it’s Wednesday, and I am an old broad, and happy about it.’

Sunny insisted that being an ‘old broad’ is better than ‘the alternative’.

‘The alternative is not attractive to any of us,’ the Oscar-winner replied. ‘We all want to be old broads and old dudes, you know?’

Although nothing further was mentioned about the interjection, the heckler seemed to have done it in jest, and was perhaps referencing Whoopi’s book Two Old Broads: Stuff You Need to Know That You Didn’t Know You Needed to Know.
