Love Island’s winter 2023 series has so far given us drama left right and centre, with a huge fight kicking off between Zara and Olivia and two Aussie bombshells entering the villa from all the way down under, and we’re only in the second week!
For many of us, the reality show is the only thing getting us through the long winter nights and we wish it could go on forever.
Alas, the series will have to end eventually as two new Love Island champions are crowned.
But when exactly could that be?
Let’s find out.

As of yet, there is no confirmed date for the series finale.
However, the series usually runs for around eight weeks and voiceover Iain Sterling said in the opening episode of this series that the show would be on our screens for the next two months.
The last series of Love Island (series eight) began on June 6, 2022 and ended on August 1 and the 2021 series began on June 28 and finished on August 23.
Since this series began on Monday, January 16, 2023, a likely date for the finale would be Monday, March 13 – exactly eight weeks after the start date.
However, don’t fret, as after the winter series has finished airing, it won’t be long before the summer series of Love Island takes to our screens (likely at some point in June 2023).
2023 will be the first year that two installments of Love Island have aired, meaning that for a whopping four months, or a third of the year, the series will be airing.
In 2020, the first winter series of the show aired, and it was supposed to be followed by a summer series later in the year, however, the summer series had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
What happens in the Love Island final?

In the Love Island final, the four remaining couples pour their hearts out to each other in romantic vows.
The results of the public vote are then revealed, in reverse order, from the fourth place couple until the winning couple is revealed.
In previous series, the couple have then been given the choice to either split the $50k prize money between them or steal it for themselves (which never happened) however, in the last series this aspect of the show was scrapped and winners Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Saclimente were told the prize money would be split between them.
Since, winning the 2022 series, Ekin-Su and Davide have had their own reality series, and Ekin is currently appearing on Dancing on Ice.
