Jay Leno was left with several broken bones after a terrifying motorbike accident – weeks after he suffered third-degree burns in a fire.
The comedian, 72, revealed that he was ‘knocked off’ his bike on January 17 while riding in Las Vegas, but insisted that he is ‘okay’ after the incident.
Speaking in a new interview, the former Tonight Show host was questioned on his recovery after a fire broke out at his home in LA when he shared the news of his latest injuries.
When questioned on how he was doing after the blaze, he told the Las Vegas Review Journal: ‘It’s so funny you should say that. That was the first accident. Okay?
‘Then just last week, I got knocked off my motorcycle. So I’ve got a broken collarbone. I’ve got two broken ribs. I’ve got two cracked kneecaps.’
The TV icon explained he was testing a motorbike and smelled leaking gas, so turned down a side street and into a car park to check it out.

‘Unbeknownst to me, some guy had a wire strung across the parking lot but with no flag hanging from it,’ he said. ‘So I didn’t see it until it was too late. It just clotheslined me and, boom, knocked me off the bike.
‘The bike kept going, and you know how that works out.’
Ever the professional, he insisted that he was recovered and already planning his return to work, adding: ‘I’m okay, I’m working. I’m working this weekend.’
The news comes after Jay was caught up in a fire in November – in which he nearly lost an eye.

He was working on one of his vintage cars when he got covered in petrol in a freak accident – which then set alight.
Petrol sprayed on his face and hands, and a spark appeared to trigger an explosion, setting him on fire.
Thankfully, a quick-thinking friend jumped to his rescue and he was able to make a ‘full recovery’, but the star still suffered some third-degree burns.
‘I was under the car maybe 10 seconds before [friend] Dave pulled me out,’ he told People Magazine of the ordeal. ‘Any longer than that I could have lost an eye.

‘I’m not a panicky guy. But I knew if I breathed in, I could scorch my lungs.
‘It felt exactly like my face was on fire. Maybe like the most intense sunburn you’ve ever had.’
Jay then spent two weeks in a specialist burns unit at a nearby hospital, where he underwent a series of skin graft operations – before getting straight back to work.
