Who is in the cast of the new Netflix detective series Lockwood & Co?-Pierra Willix-Entertainment – Metro

If you’re ready to be scared out of your socks, the new Netflix series Lockwood & Co is arriving at just the right time.

An adaptation of Jonathan Stroud’s ghost detective series of the same name, the eight-part series is set in a dystopian London where the most talented teenage ghost-hunters journey nightly into dangerous combat with deadly spirits.

While there are endless agencies staffed by adults to help address the threat, small start-up Lockwood & Co is operated by two teenage boys and a psychically gifted girl.

At its centre of the business are agents Lucy Carlyle, played by Bridgerton’s Ruby Stokes and George Karim (Ali Hadji-Heshmati), as well as Anthony Lockwood (Cameron Chapman), who has founded his own ghoulish firm.

With no adult supervision the renegade trio have their work cut out for them, which becomes even more complicated once they get wrapped up in a a terrifying mystery that will change the course of history.

Ahead of the release on Friday, just who are the cast members who have signed up to star in this chilling supernatural series?

Ruby Stokes

At just 22, Ruby Stokes has already appeared in several films, including Una, Rocks and A Banquet, as well as playing the sixth Bridgerton child, Francesca in the hit period drama.

From Hackney in East London, she attended the BRIT School as well as the Young Actors Theatre Islington.

She was also a member of the London Youth Circus.

Ruby left her role on Bridgerton in order to be able to focus on Lockwood & Co.

While she said it was a difficult decision to make, she added that this opportunity was one she couldn’t turn down.

Cameron Chapman

It was while in his final year of study at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama that Cameron Chapman secured the titular role of this series.

The show will mark his first-ever TV appearance.

Ali Hadji-Heshmati

Ali Hadji-Heshmati face might already look a little familiar when you see him on screen as George Karim.

The actor has already been seen in Bad Education, Holby City and Alex Rider before being cast for this project.

He is also currently studying English literature part-time at Oxford University.

Morven Christie

Scottish actress Morven is best known for her roles as Alison Hughes in the BBC drama The A Word, Amanda Hopkins in the ITV drama Grantchester, and DS Lisa Armstrong in ITV crime series The Bay.

The 41-year-old left school at 15, eventually studying acting at the Drama Centre London.

She has received three BAFTA Scotland nominations.

In Lockwood & Co she plays Penelope Fittes, head of an agency founded by her mother.

As the daughter of the person who first discovered ‘The Problem’, and who pioneered the techniques still used by agents to this day, Penelope wants to continue her mother’s legacy and ensure that Fittes remains the country’s leading agency.

Luke Treadaway

Luke Treadaway won an Olivier Award for his performance in the National Theatre’s production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time in 2013.

On screen he’s appeared in Unbroken, A Street Cat Named Bob, Traitors and The Singapore Grip.

In this series the 38-year-old plays the villain The Golden Blade, a mysterious, nameless mercenary who specialises in the dark arts of high-risk, high-reward covert operations.

Ivanno Jeremiah

You might remember his 2016 Black Mirror episode, Shut Up and Dance, but now Ivanno Jeremiah is very much in control as Inspector Barnes.

A Senior Inspector for DEPRAC — the government organisation assigned with tackling The Problem and overseeing the country’s psychical agencies, Barnes works hard to protect the young agents that fall under his command.

Ivanno has also appeared in Doctor Who, Cold Feet and A Discovery of Witches.

Lockwood & Co premieres on Netflix on January 27.
