Doudrop has revealed the Covid-19 related health scare behind her long WWE absence.

The Scottish wrestler, who is part of the Raw brand, hasn’t been on screen since September and she has now opened up on the reason fans haven’t seen her on shows for a while.

‘So, I’ve had some time off to deal with a little bit of a health scare that I had. Luckily that’s all it was. It was just a scare. Everything was always great,’ she insisted.

‘Sadly, I got Covid real bad and the symptoms that I was having – they were concerned about my heart. God bless them, they took the best care of me.

‘They got every test for my heart that they could muster and every single one of them came back clean as a whistle. And much to some people’s annoyance, my heart is in excellent condition.’

The new interview with Denise Salcedo took place in San Antonio, Texas just two days before the 2023 Royal Rumble, but Doudrop refused to reveal her plans for the weekend.

She teased: ‘I’ll be around and at what capacity? I’m not going to tell that, but I’ll be around.’

Her most recent match saw her team up with Nikki A.S.H. – who has since reverted back to her Nikki Cross persona – in a win over Toxic Attraction on the September 6 episode of NXT.

The previous night, she and Nikki lost to Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez in what stands as her most recent Raw match.

This week marks the first time Doudrop has spoken publicly in detail about the reason for her absence, although earlier this month she responded to a fan asking why she ‘disappeared’ off TV.

Without delving too much into the whole situation, she replied on Twitter: ‘I was very sick, but I am healing. 🧠💪🏻’

WWE Royal Rumble 2023 airs Saturday night (January 28) at 1am on the WWE Network and BT Sport.
