Katy Perry has admitted she made a ‘huge mistake’ by not taking up the offer to work with future superstar Billie Eilish.
The Firework hitmaker, who is married to Lord of the Rings actor Orlando Bloom, revealed she wasn’t overly impressed by the Bad Guy singer’s music.
Speaking at 102.7 Kiis FM event, which was hosted in LA, the 38-year-old looked a little red face as she detailed her big error.
The mother-of-one explained that she received a message from someone at her record label, who saw Billie’s star potential.
The message said: ‘Hey, check out this new artist. I’d really like us to work with her.’
Katy continued: ‘It was a song called Ocean Eyes and it was just a blonde girl, and I was like, “Meh, boring”‘
‘Big mistake, huge mistake,’ she added, wincing, before joking: ‘Don’t let this hit the internet.’
Oops, sorry Katy!
Ocean Eyes, which was written and produced by the NDA singer’s older brother, Finneas O’Connell in 2016, went on to become her breakout hit after it was released on sound cloud, when Billie was just 13.

The 21-year-old now has seven Grammy awards to her name and an Oscar, which she scooped for the James Bond theme song No Time To Die for the film of the same name.
She also made history last year when she became Glastonbury’s youngest-ever solo headliner on the Pyramid stage.
