Jenna Ortega has shared a sweet tribute to Lisa Loring after the original Wednesday Addams actress died aged 64.
The late star’s daughter confirmed that she died in hospital on January 28, following complications from a stroke caused by high blood pressure.
Following the news, Ortega was among those offering their condolences on social media.
Taking to Instagram, the 20-year-old – who took on the role of Wednesday for the hugely popular Netflix series last year – posted black-and-white snaps of Loring in character.
Alongside one, she simply wrote: ‘Absolutely devastated. Thank you for everything.’
Loring was the first to play the iconic character, and appeared in the live-action adaptation of Charles Addams’ New Yorker cartoons.

The series aired between 1964 to 1966, running for 64 episodes in total.
Ortega famously paid homage to her dance in one episode of the Netflix program, making sure to incorporate some of her moves in the scene.

‘I knew there were certain things I wanted to do. I paid homage to Lisa Loring, the first Wednesday Addams,’ she previously said.
‘I did a little bit of her shuffle that she does. Of course, they cut out of camera when I did do it, but it’s there! I know it is!’

Loring’s daughter, Vanessa Foumberg, revealed the news of her death over the weekend, telling the Hollywood Reporter: ‘She went peacefully with both her daughters [Vanessa and Marianne] holding her hands.’
Close friend Laure Jacobson added: ‘It is with great sadness that I report the death of our friend, Lisa Loring. 4 Days ago she suffered a massive stroke brought on by smoking and high blood pressure.
‘She had been on life support for 3 days. Yesterday, her family made the difficult decision to remove it and she passed last night.
