This year’s Love Island cast and crew have reportedly been hit with a ‘nasty stomach illness.’
The winter cast have been living their best lives in Cape Town for two weeks now, however, it seems as though things haven’t been as glamorous as they appear on-screen.
According to reports, there isn’t much knowledge about how the sickness bug invaded the villa, but the sickness has resulted in diarrhoea among the cast and crew.
‘It has torn its way through the set and the aftermath has been less than appealing,’ an insider shared.
‘As well as rushing to the Beach Hut for a chat, the islanders have also been dashing off to use the loo,’ they added to The Sun.
The publication also claims that despite the inconvenience, this hasn’t stopped the contestants from cracking on.

Maya Jama is reportedly set to make another appearance really soon (Picture: REX)
Tonight’s episode is set to bring the drama, after Tom Clare and Ellie Spence’s kiss was exposed in Monday’s episode.
Ellie confided in Will Young about the smooch, leading to him telling Tanya Manhenga who in turn told Tom’s ex Zara Lackeny-Brown.
Believing that she was sitting on a ‘bay boy piece of information’ Zara made her way to the terrace to tell rival Olivia Hawkins – who has been harbouring feelings for the 23-year-old footballer.

And if that wasn’t enough, presenter Maya Jama is making her way back to the villa this week, and we fear a surprise recoupling may be in store.
In her latest Instagram post featuring backstage photos from Love Island: Aftersun, the host wrote: ‘Episode 2 of aftersun last night🖤 can not wait to be back in South Africa this week.’

Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
