I’m a mom in my 40s and still wear clothes ‘made for 20-year-olds’ – people troll me but I don’t care
A FASHION-FORWARD woman has shared her thoughts on styling double standards.
She clapped back at a brand that touted their clothing for 20-somethings, saying that as a woman over 40, she’d easily rock the same look.

Yaz (@brooklynbaklava) is a mother and digital content creator.
She took to TikTok to reveal that her style can keep up with the trends.
The video started as a stitch with a clothing brand showing skin tight jumpsuits with cut-out detail.
“Don’t waste your 20s dressing like you’re 40,” the clothing brand wrote.
Yaz took the opportunity to set the record straight against trolls who say women can’t dress a certain way over 40.
“Tell me you don’t know any 40-year-olds without telling me you don’t know any 40-year-olds,” she said.
“I really almost clicked the link,” she added. “I wanted that outfit for Valentine’s day.”
“I would do it justice in my 41-year-old body,” she said of the risqué look.
The video came as part of an ongoing trend where women are proudly wearing the clothes they feel comfortable in, despite what the haters say.
“Now I’m not going to buy it from you guys,” Yaz added. “But if your marketing team wants any help, please reach out.”
The video struck a chord with viewers who shared their two cents in the comment section.
“I feel like the people that act as though 40 is elderly are terrified of getting older,” one wrote.
“I’m 46 and if I want to wear that I would. These youngins swear they won’t get older,” another added.
“I’m 50, I guess I missed the memo too,” a third commented.
