It might be quite hard to believe that the Hello singer’s path has never crossed the action hero’s given she’s practically been living in Hollywood for several years, but Adele, 34, recently lamented the fact that she was yet to meet Dwayne, 50.
Well, she now has Grammys 2023 host Trevor Noah to thank as he orchestrated their first encounter live on-air during the awards show on Sunday night.
To kick-off the ceremony, the comedian informed the audience that the two had never met and explained that, while he didn’t have anyone called ‘Dwayne Johnson’ on-hand, he did have someone called ‘The Rock’.
Unbeknown to Adele, the blockbuster actor had crept up behind her before giving her a big bear hug.
Adele was visibly shocked and gave boyfriend Rich Paul a tap to alert him to Dwayne’s presence before bursting into laughter.

Noah said as the stars embraced: ‘Adele meet The Rock, The Rock meet Adele! All right, you two get acquainted, we gotta keep the show moving!’
They clearly hit it off as Dwayne was then seen taking a seat at Adele’s table, while sports agent Rich was later pictured play-fighting the larger-than-life actor.
It was just two years ago that Adele revealed she would ‘actually cry’ if she ever got the chance to meet Dwayne.
‘I was the biggest wrestling fan when I was younger,’ she told Nikkie de Jager in December 2021.
Ever the gentleman, the Black Adam actor sent flowers to the singer at one of her concerts and she joked she ‘literally fell off’ her chair. Dwayne’s wife Lauren Hashian appears to be a fan of Adele in return having attended one of her concerts in the past.

It was certainly an eventful night for Adele, who took home the award for best pop solo performance for her comeback single Easy On Me.
Collecting her latest trophy from her new bestie Dwayne himself, the Someone Like You singer revealed that her partner had warned her against becoming emotional during her big moment.
‘I really was just looking forward to coming tonight,’ she began, before shouting out her son, Angelo, who she shares with ex-husband Simon Konecki.
‘I just want to dedicate this to my son, Angelo.’
Directing her attention to Rich, she continued: ‘Oh, God! Rich! He said, “don’t cry! If you win anything tonight, don’t cry”! And here I am crying!
‘Just to my son, I wrote this first verse in the shower when I was choosing to change my son’s life.
‘And he’s been nothing humble and gracious and loving to me the whole time.’
